Learn a bit about why we love FA below!
Audition FAq

Q: How does audition week work?
A: A cappella audition week starts with pre-lim auditions from Saturday to Monday. The rest of the week will be comprised of 3 invitational callback nights spread out over Tuesday to Friday. Before each callback, we will give you a portion of a solo to sing, and you will be taught a block during the callback! The final round of callbacks (called Final Night) takes place on Friday - where you will prepare a full song of your choice!

Q: Do I need to have a cappella experience to get into an a cappella group?
A: Not at all! Loads of a cappella singers at Harvard had no a cappella experience in high school!

Q: Can I audition for more than 1 group?
A: Of course! We recommend attending pre-lim auditions for 2-5 groups. You can even be called back to multiple final nights!

Q: Do I need to identify as a woman to join the Fallen Angels?
A: Nope! The Fallen Angels does not accept those who identify as men, but accepts all other individuals whose voices fall into the soprano-alto range, including those who identify outside the gender binary
.

Q: What does a semester in the Fallen Angels look like?
A: We rehearse for ~6 hours a week and perform in Sander’s theatre every semester! We also are hired for addtional gigs, perform charity concerts, go on retreats, and sing with groups from other colleges!

Q: How will auditions and rehearsals be different due to COVID?
A: All auditionees are required to wear a mask during all stages of the audition process, including while singing. Auditionees should try to remain distant when possible, and may be placed in a holding room to increase distancing ability during callbacks. We are limiting the number of members of FA at pre-lims, as these often occur in smaller rooms. If you test positive during the audition process, we can arrange a one-on-one remote callback. If you come into contact with someone who tests positive, please take a COVID test as soon as possible, and wait for the result to come back before returning to the audition process (we can again arrange a one-on-one remote callback under these circumstances). For the time being, all of our rehearsals and performances will be masked, but we hope these restrictions will loosen as the semester goes on.

Q: What if I have more questions?
A: Send us an email (theharvardfallenangels@gmail.com) or DM us on instagram (@harvardfallenangels), we'd be happy to talk about all things FA!
