Fall 2022 Auditions
Thank you to everyone who came out to audition this year! We were so impressed with everyone's talent :) We are so excited to welcome our three new cherubs, Jade '26, Malaika '26 & Phoebe '26!
Interested in joining the Fallen Angels at some point? You can check out a full audition FAQ below! To stay up to date on FA, follow our instagram @harvardfallenangels, or the Harvard a cappella group account @harvardacappella, to check out what we're up to!
Learn a bit about why we love FA in this video!
Q: How does audition week work? A: A cappella audition week starts with pre-lim auditions from Saturday to Monday. The rest of the week will be comprised of 3 invitational callback nights spread out over Tuesday to Friday. Before each callback, we will give you a portion of a solo to sing, and you will be taught a block during the callback! The final round of callbacks (called Final Night) takes place on Friday - where you will prepare a full song of your choice!
Q: Do I need to have a cappella experience to get into an a cappella group? A: Not at all! Loads of a cappella singers at Harvard had no a cappella experience in high school!
Q: Can I audition for more than 1 group? A: Of course! We recommend attending pre-lim auditions for 2-5 groups. You can even be called back to multiple final nights!
Q: Do I need to identify as a woman to join the Fallen Angels? A:Nope! The Fallen Angels does not audition those who identify as men, but accepts all other individuals whose voices fall into the soprano-alto range, including those who identify outside the gender binary. No member will ever be excluded due to a change in how they identify.
Q: What does a semester in the Fallen Angels look like? A: We rehearse for ~6 hours a week and perform in Sanders theatre every semester! We also are hired for addtional gigs, perform charity concerts, go on retreats, and sing with groups from other colleges!
Q: What about COVID restrictions? A: We are aligning with the college's current restrictions, therefore masking and social distancing is not necessary throughout any stage of the audition process. If you test positive for COVID (either during auditions or before but were planning to attend) please reach out to us and we will be able to arrange a remote audition alternative for you!
Q: What if I have more questions? A: Send us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or DM us on instagram (@harvardfallenangels), we'd be happy to talk about all things FA!
